THOUGHTS ON LIFE AND ART “Our lives are made up of many things. Personal experiences and especially our temperaments, direct our interests and talents. In fine art, mastering the visual elements of form can lead to learning what is essential to expressing our inner truths, our ultimate intentions. I paint landscapes. I try to strike a balance between the visual knowledge of the subject and the emotions that the subject evokes . I think first in terms of dynamic composition and form—then recognizable details”. “Many great works of art through the ages are rooted in Christianity. Some artists take an historic interest in religion and sacred symbols in their quest for truth, while others embrace the teachings of Jesus the Christ as truth and make their ministry their art. I believe that God works through us. And I also believe that anything of positive note attributed to me is really His.”—David Dale. ART AS A LIVING David Dale paints landscapes outdoors and in his studio in pastel and oil. He also designs and handcrafts signature picture frames to complement his paintings. His paintings hang in corporate, museum, private and public collections. Andrew Dale, David’s son, is principal of David Dale Designs & Ann Grace, a professional interior design discipline established in 1969. David continues to serve Andrew and the practice in an advisory capacity. The Dales’ maintain a fine art gallery at the practice to exhibit and sell David’s and guest artists original paintings. Gallery hours are 9 to 5 weekdays, or by appointment. CREDENTIALS AND SERVICES David Dale studied fine art at the Fort Wayne Art School and Museum in Fort Wayne, Indiana while on scholarship; He taught, by invitation, interior design and professional practices in the school of fine art, Ball State University, Muncie. He serves on the Friends of the Gallery Advisory Committee to the Ball State University Art Museum.
David Dale is a member of and shows his work at the
Brown County Art Guild Gallery in Nashville, Indiana. He is a
member of select art organizations. He participates in competitive
and invitational art exhibits. He judges art competitions, curates
art exhibits and collections, and instructs individual artists and
conducts painting workshops. |
